WellKept

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 August 2026

The short version: WellKept needs to know where your home is, because that is how it knows what your home needs. We store your account, your address, and what public records say about the building. We do not sell any of it, we do not run ads, and we do not use analytics or trackers. You can delete all of it by asking.

WellKept is operated by Great Basin Software LLC ("we", "us"), a Utah limited liability company. This policy covers the WellKept app and wellkeptonline.com.

What we collect

WhatWhy
Your name and email To give you an account, so your home is still there on your next phone. Comes from whichever sign-in you chose.
Your home's address It is the single most useful thing you can tell us. It gives us the climate, the water hardness, and the property record.
Your device's location, if you tap "use my location" Turned into a street address so you can confirm it. Never collected in the background, and never while the app is closed.
Facts about the building — year built, size, type, heating, cooling, roof, and similar From public property records. It is what lets the plan be about your house rather than houses in general.
Your maintenance plan — what is due, and what you marked done, snoozed, or skipped To schedule reminders and not nag you about something you finished last week.
Your session — a random identifier in a cookie, plus the kind of device that signed in So you stay signed in, and so you can sign out everywhere if a device is lost.

Property records are shared between accounts

This is the one thing in here that is genuinely unusual, so it gets its own section.

When you add a home, we look it up against public property records and keep the result filed under the address, not under your account. If someone else ever adds the same address, they get the answer we already have.

That record contains only what public records say about the building — year built, square footage, heating type, and so on. It contains nothing about you: not your name, not your email, and no link back to your account. It is the same information a county assessor's office would give to anybody who asked.

We do it because a property record costs money to fetch and never changes, so paying twice for one house makes the product more expensive for no benefit to anyone. A consequence worth stating plainly: deleting your account does not delete that record, because it was never yours — it is a fact about a building.

Who we send your information to

Only the companies that make the product work, and only what each one needs:

We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it for advertising. We would disclose it if the law required us to.

Analytics and advertising

There are none. No analytics service, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting, no third-party trackers.

If you install from Google Play, Google collects its own install and crash information as it does for every app on the store. That is Google's collection under Google's policy, and we see only anonymous aggregate counts.

The Android app

The app displays wellkeptonline.com inside itself. It is the same product as the website, not a separate one, and this policy covers both. It asks for:

It does not ask for contacts, storage, or the microphone. Camera access will be added when nameplate scanning ships, and this policy will say so before it does.

How long we keep it

Your account and home stay until you delete them. Sessions expire after 30 days, or immediately when you sign out. Property records are kept indefinitely, for the reason described above.

Getting your data, or getting rid of it

Email [email protected] and we will send you a copy of everything attached to your account, or delete it, within 30 days. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not ask for one.

Deleting your account removes your name, email, homes, plan, and history. It does not remove the public property records described above, which are not personal information.

Where your data lives

On servers in the United States. If you are in the UK or the EU, that means your information is transferred outside your region.

Children

WellKept is for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we start collecting something new, we will update this page before that feature ships and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described in the app rather than left for you to notice.
